➡️ Imo state university was established in 1981 through the law No.4 passed by Imo state House of Assembly, Owerri
NUC formally approved the re-establishment of the university in 1992 at the lake Nwaebere Campus
The first batch of students was allocated to imo state university by JAMB in February 1993
The first year of the university relocation at Owerri in 1992/93. 24 courses were stated in the first year.
➡️In 1995, the post graduate studies programme of the university was inaugurated.
The university graduated first batch of students in 1996/97 session
The university offers Full time, Part time, ICEP, Evening and Postgraduate Programs
Her notable alumni are; Uche Nwosu, Linus Okorie, Cubana Chiefpriest etc
➡️ IMSU offers a total number of 76 courses currently with approximately 14 faculties
