A referee in the CAF African Champions League quarter-final match was reduced to tears at the sight of a horrific double-leg break.
Ethiopian match official Bamlak Tessema was in charge of the match pitting Wydad Casablanca and Horoya AC on Sunday, April 14.

Horoya’s Senegalese goalkeeper Khadim Ndiaye collided with teammate Boubacar Samassekou as he attempted a sliding tackle in the box to clear the ball – his idea, equally shared by Boubacar.

The 34-year-old shot-stopper lay on the ground in pain before he was eventually stretchered off, much to the disbelief of the players and the referee as well.

“The results are reassuring and he will remain at the Cheick Zaidi University hospital where he will continue his recovery,” read a statement released by the club.

The club, however, failed to mention for how long the goalkeeper was going to be sidelined.
