Factors that hinder university students from passing exams

Every student in university desires success at the end of his study period and the community expect them to be academically successful. However, there are some factors that hinder the students from passing examinations once in the university.

Below are some of the factors;

Non-supervision

Since students are not followed up by their instructors, most of them tend not to attend lectures/classes and thus miss a lot of concepts learned in class. Students miss classes in preference to hang around with friends and in most cases partying in their rooms.

Poor preparation for exams

Most students do not read their lecture notes in time and when exams near they rush over the notes in the aim of at least familiarizing themselves with what the lecturer taught without maximum concentration and mastering of content. In the end, all they can achieve is fail.

Drug abuse

Most of the students in university take drugs especially alcohol, this is due to peer pressure from colleagues and once a student is drunk, it will be hard for him/her to concentrate and answer a question in an exam hence will fail terribly.

Due to failure in exams, most of the students will not be successful after studying in university as expected by the community
