SUBJECT: Conducting Examinations During the Ongoing Strike.
This is to bring to the attention of all members of ASUU-IMSU the critical importance of staying away from all academic activities during the ongoing total, indefinite, and comprehensive strike. Any deviation from this stance will be considered a serious breach of the Union’s principles and will be met with appropriate actions and sanctions.
It has come to our notice that there are petty plans by unscrupulous individuals to conduct examinations on Monday, September 23, 2024. This is not only counter-productive but also objectionable. You must wait until the strike is duly called off. We strongly advise all members to resist this temptation and remain steadfast in our commitment to the objectives of the strike.
Furthermore, those who intend to take the examination by 7:00 AM on Monday, September 24, 2024, are not only violating the strike but are also conducting the examination outside the scheduled time. Such actions will be considered a flagrant disregard for the union’s directives and will not be tolerated.
We implore all members to prioritize the welfare of the students who have stayed away on account of the strike and the integrity of our academic institution. Let us stand united in our pursuit of a just and equitable resolution to the issues that led to this strike.
