Governor Hope Uzodinma on road inspection in imo state

Inline with government measures in checkmating the activities of contractors handling Imo roads, yesterday, the Commissioner for Works, Ralph Nwosu alongside directors of the ministry, resident engineers and other senior staff of ministry, visited two local government areas in the state on roads inspection.

The roads included-:

1.) MAINTENANCE OF FAILED SECTIONS OF OWERRI-AMARAKU-ANARA-ONUIMO-UMUNA-OKIGWE ROAD.

2.) RECONSTRUCTION/REHABILITATION OF OKIGWE EXPRESS ROUNDABOUT–ST.MARYS CHURCH OKIGWE (DUAL CARRIAGE).

Inspecting the ongoing road construction at Ekemele, the Commissioner commended the contractor, while urging him to hasten the job before the peak of the raining season.

Ralph Nwosu called on the people of the area to bear with the contractor as well as the government promising that upon completion of the road, the problems facing the road will become a thing of the past and tasked them to cooperate with the contractor in other to achieved this remarkable feat.

Recall that the Ekemele road was initially awarded by the past government on MAINTENANCE OF THE FAILED SECTIONS but, the road being a nightmare to commuters and residents of the area coupled with it’s every year remedial construction, His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma deemed it vitally important to graciously award full construction of the road with drainage system control where the storm waters will be channelled down to Okatankwu river in other to permanently solve issues of flooding in the area.

The Works Commissioner on inspection of Okigwe Roundabout to St. Marys Church Okigwe also applauded the contractor on the level of progress achieved and called on him for timely delivery of the job.

Ralph Nwosu since his assumption of office as Works Commissioner has toured round Owerri and Orlu zones on roads inspections with Okigwe zone not left out.
