IMSU Student Distributes Palliatives To IMSU Off-Campus Hostels

While the world unite in the fight against a common enemy in the novel coronavirus that has affected hundreds of persons globally, on the Nigerian front the fight is against two enemies – the coronavirus pandemic and the hunger  pangs (which is as a result of the Covid-19-necessitated lockdown) that is now on rampage.

And as passionate appeals to the government, and well meaning individuals, to provide palliatives to the citizenry to cushion the adverse effects of the lockdown continue to ring through the mass media by individuals from all walks of life, an IMSU student has done the “necessary”.

Earlier today, Imo State University Students’ Union Government (SUG) Secretary General Comr. Ebimnamaonye Chidera Kizito alias Office distributed palliatives to IMSU students in IMSU off-campus hostels.

Comr. Office and his team visited students in Bishop’s Court Alliance, Owerri to deliver palliatives to IMSU students much to their amazement.

Receiving the SUG SSG and his team, the Alliance Director of Information Comr. Nelson Obinna who represented the alliance president commended the humanitarian efforts of the SUG SSG and prayed that the good Lord replenish him. While also expressing appreciation on behalf of the alliance, he said that it is one act of kindness the students really needed in this unfavorable period.

On the reason for this enormous gesture, the SUG Secretary General while attributing his love for Imo Stars as a factor behind his action also bemoaned the untoward effects the state-wide lockdown is having on the students who may now be lacking basic life needs as food and other necessaries as they can’t even work part-time to get money to meet those needs since the lockdown is still in effect.

The SUG SSG, who was also in company of IMSU 16th Republic SUG Director of Transportation Comr. Uzoma Promise alias Avalon, delivered palliatives to Destiny Lodge, Diamond Acre, De Roll Hostel, Precious Hostel, Ogidi Hostel, Triple C, Multibond, Treasure Hall, James Flat, Classic Hostels, Hot Note, Laag Paradise and Parktonian Hostel, all in Bishop’s Court Alliance, Owerri.

Comr. Office’s action has added him to the growing list of Nigerian philanthropists and well-wishers who have reached out to their immediate communities and the nation in general by providing monetary support and palliatives for the citizenry.
