Photos Of First Nigerian Electric Car Build By University Of Nigerian, Nsuka

The University Of Nigeria, Nsukka becomes the first ever Nigerian university or institution to build a working electric car, a five-seater electric Car, named ‘Lion Ozumba 551′, produced by the Faculty of Engineering in the university.

This is coming after the Director-General of National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) called four top universities in Nigeria, UNN, University of Lagos, Usman Dan Fodio University and Metrological Institute and requested them to present a paper design on how to produce a working electric car.

UNN took the lead as they become the first out of the four universities to produce a working prototype and has received commendation from the council who urged other institutions to emulate UNN.
