Ihedioha directs immediate reopen of Imo Poly

Following the closure of Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo for the past two months as a result of leadership succession tussle, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the Governor of Imo State has directed immediate re-opening of the tertiary institution for normal academic activities.

The governor who is a visitor to the Institution gave the directive in a press statement dated 10/6/2019, issued and endorsed by Hon. Uche Onyeaguocha, the Secretary to the Government of Imo State.

According to the release, “resultant upon the expiration of the tenure of the Rector who has since proceeded on terminal leave, the most senior academic staff in the Polytechnic, Dr. Paddy N. Njoku is hereby appointed the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic, effective today, June 10, 2019,” he said.

The release further advised the Polytechnic community and all stakeholders to co-operate and accord the Acting Rector all necessary support needed to operate efficiently and effectively.
