INEC engages 30,000 ad hoc staff
The Independent National Electoral Commission has engaged about 30,000 ad hoc staff for the conduct of the forthcoming general elections in Nasarawa State.
The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Uthman Ajidagba, disclosed this at a press conference in Lafia, on Wednesday.
Ajidagba said about 8,000 members of the National Youth Service Corps were engaged for the exercise.
He said the commission had concluded the training of the Supervisory Presiding Officers.
He also said the electoral body had intensified awareness campaign against violence and the need for residents to collect their Permanent Voter Cards before the elections.
