The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC says it will recruit one million adhoc staff for the 2019 general elections.
This was disclosed by the INEC commissioner in charge of information and voters education, Mr. Festus Okoye at a one day seminar on media and gender sensitization on elections, in Abuja.
Mr. Okoye said that the adhoc staff would be made up of lecturers in Federal institutions, members of the national youth service corps and students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
“These categories of adhoc staff will serve as returning officers, collation officers, supervisory presiding officers and Assistant Presiding officers,”he said.
