OFFICIAL TIME-TABLE FOR THE 2025 SUG ELECTIONS
The University Electoral Committee (UNECO) hereby releases the official schedule for the 2025 Student Union Government Elections. All aspirants, delegates, and stakeholders are expected to adhere strictly to the following timeline:
16/07/25 – Commencement of Campaign Activities
Let the race begin! Aspirants may begin engaging the student body within constitutional limits.
17/07/25 – Sales of Nomination Forms Commence
Official opening of form sales for all eligible positions.
23/07/25 – Sales of Forms End by 1pm
Deadline for form purchases – No late entries allowed!
Same Day: Screening for Senate and Judge Aspirants
24/07/25 – Screening for Executive Aspirants
Presidential and other executive office aspirants undergo formal screening.
25/07/25 – Test Run of Electronic Voting System
UNECO will conduct a live simulation to test the efficiency of the e-voting platform.
28/07/25 – Faculty-Based Election of Senators by Delegates
Delegates across various faculties elect their faculty Senators.
30/07/25 – General Election for Executive Positions
All eligible voters go to the polls electronically to elect the new SUG Executive Council.
01/08/25 – Leadership Retreat for Elected Officers
A day of orientation, bonding, and capacity building for all elected leaders.
04/08/25 – Inauguration of Newly Elected Executive Officers
Formal swearing-in ceremony and transfer of leadership baton.
05/08/25 – Inauguration of Judges and Parliamentarians
Official induction of elected Judges and Senators to commence legislative and judicial duties.
All dates are fixed and binding unless otherwise announced by UNECO.
